We strive to resolve key risks and dependencies that threaten us in the long term, thereby developing great resilience to megatrends such as climate change and other critical environmental issues.

Our aim to become net positive by adopting strategies is built

on the idea that a company must give back more than it takes from society and the environment.

We embrace the principles of the Circular Economy, where in resources are kept in use as long as possible before they are disposed of, following environmentally friendly techniques. We source raw sugar which is produced from the sugarcane grown at 100% deforestation-free  land.

Process & Procedures

Reducing the Environmental Impact by Employing
Latest Technologies & Adopting the Best Practices

Integrating eco-friendly technologies into our production process is the most efficient way to fight climate change.

At Durrah, our seasoned technicians, along with green tech innovators, are adapting to the latest environmental science and green chemistry to make our production process more energy-efficient while trying to minimize the harmful impact on our surroundings.

By leveraging technology and innovation, we are limiting our impact on the environment by:

Conserving
Water
Limiting CO2
Emissions
Recycling
Sugar Dust
Producing Steam
Using Natural Gas

Reducing Water
Consumption.

Throughout the process, we take additional measures to ensure there is no wastage of water, including domestic usage. We have installed an excellent brine recovery system, which recovers 100% of the water used in brine preparation. We recycle the steam condensate back to the process and boiler to reduce freshwater consumption. By treating our industrial wastewater, we make zero discharge to land or sea. We have implemented necessary controls to prevent contamination of groundwater, thereby making it safe for the marine ecosystem.

Minimizing Carbon
Footprint.

To protect our planet from further adverse impacts, we use natural gas in our boiler, which is a cleaner fuel to reduce CO2 emissions. The process leads to the recycling part of CO2 after scrubbing back into the refinery clarification process. We use our own captive power produced from low-carbon emission natural gas fuel and discourage Single-Use Plastic on site to reduce our carbon footprint.
